Nkiruka Azuka Biography
Nkiruka Azuka is a fill-in anchor at KNWA-TV and Fox 24 News and a full-time journalist at FOX 5 Vegas – KVVU. She started working as a journalist in Kare 11 where she was a News reporting intern. Later she became a news anchor at blaze radio and a reporter at Cronkite News.
Nkiruka Azuka Age, Family and Spouse
Nkiruka identifies as American but her country of decency is Nigeria. She was born on 5th March 1992. Her family moved to America for better life and opportunities. Her Nigerian identity is most evident in her mother whom she regularly posts on Instagram. Nkiruka is the eldest in the family of four children. Coming from a hard-working family, Azuka has displayed the same zeal for work. This zeal has kept her from focusing on relationships or having a husband. We can say that she is single as of 2023.
Nkiruka Azuka Education and Career
She joined the University of Missouri-Colombia where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Media Studies. From 2016 to 2017, she joined Arizona State University where she pursued a master’s degree in journalism. The same year she joined Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Azuka’s Career began in the District Downtown Colombia where she worked as a Marketing and Promotion Intern. She created ad campaigns for events and worked with businesses to run events. In 2014 she became a student production assistant at Zimmer Radio and Marketing Group. Here, she managed emergency breaking news and produced weather and pre-commercial segments.
Azuka joined KOMU TV as a production assistant in 2015. she was responsible for directing anchors and reporters in the studio and operating cameras required at live shows.
She later joined Favor Business Line, LLC as a social media manager. At the business, she managed the business’s online presence and created engaging content on social media platforms.
In June 2018, she became a fill-in anchor and morning reporter for KNWA-TV and Fox 24 News. Currently, she is working as a multimedia journalist at FOX 5 Vegas – KVVU.
In her career, she has covered stories like the story of LaMarre Theatre, the first black-owned theater and its strategies to promote diversity, the preparation for Super Bowl LVII, and the Black History Month celebrations.
Nkiruka Azuka Arrest
In October 2019 Azuka found herself in a controversial situation that prompted her arrest. While reporting for KNWA, Azuka illegally recorded an Audio during the hearing of Mauricio Torres’ capital murder.
During the court session, she testified and admitted her contempt. Azuka, however, argued that she did not have the intention of broadcasting the report as she was recording for accuracy’s sake. The judge found her contempt as she deliberately violated the rules in the courtroom. The judge placed Azuka on six months probation and sentenced her to serve 10 days in Benton County Jail. The sentence was reduced to three days. However, after a few hours in jail, she was released. She paid $250 in court costs
Nkiruka Azuka Salary
Her experience as a journalist has made her a well-paid journalist. She affords going out and live a good life from her annual salary of approximately $60,000.
