She joined Carleton University where she pursued a Bachelor of Journalism, Double Major in Law. She graduated with High Honours. Rooy has worked for several organizations before joining CTV News. In 2012, she worked as a Communication Assistant at the Ontario Ministry of the Environment. She was responsible for editing content on the website and preparing news releases.
Rooy later joined CanCulture as a Social Media Coordinator, responsible for using Twitter to increase interest in CanCulture.In 2013, Natalie worked as a videographer for Carleton University’s Faculty of Public Affairs. Her work on CTV News began in 2016. She started as a videographer and reporter for CTV News Northern Ontario, where she shot daily News stories.
From 2017 to date, Natalie works a full-time reporter, fill-in anchor, and backup weather presenter. Behind the screen, she shoots interviews, edits content, and writes scripts. Recently, Natalie has been involved in the coverage of the deep freeze in Ottawa, the anniversary of Freedom Convoy in the Capital, and the impact of winter storms on the transport sector in the country.
