Christie Diez Biography

She is an American multimedia journalist working for 11Alive. She is the reporter for the emmy-award winning morning show Morning News Show. Diez is also the anchor for the weekend morning and the creator of Behind the Headlines.
Christie Diez Age, Family, and Husband
Diez was born on October 11, 1989, in Atlanta. She will be celebrating her 34th birthday in 2023. She is the daughter of David Ethridge, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer, a disease that affects the thinking, behavior, and memory capacity of the victim. Christie played a huge role in taking care of her father before he passed on in December 2020.
His death led Christie to become a Journalism fellow at Rosalynn Carter Mental Health, an organization aimed at improving human rights, alleviating human suffering, preventing and resolving conflicts, and improving human health. Prior to her father’s death, Christie had tied the knot with her long-time fiancee Jorge Dieze, a former TV journalist, whom she met for the first time at WRDW-TV.

Like most journalists, Christie is well-educated. She went for college studies at the University of Georgia where she did a Bachelor of Arts program in Digital and Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Spanish.
While at school she went for an internship program to start off her skills. She started at WTVT Fox 13. There, she conducted scheduled shoots, set up interviews, and wrote copywriting scripts for newscasts. After graduating, she joined WRDW-Tv first as an anchor and journalist. She researched, wrote stories, and co-anchored News 12 First on weekdays. Christie was later promoted to Multimedia Journalist where she anchored all weekend newscasts, tackled sports as a photographer and short videos, and edited and wrote all her packages.
Career
Diez became an employee at 11 Alive in July 2017. At 11Alive, she writes and produces all her stories. She is part of the Morning Rush Team and reports live from Monday through Wednesday either in Studio or on the field. On the remaining days of the weekdays, she takes a deeper look at the top headlines the station has covered in a series called Behind the Headlines, which she created. During weekends, she anchors the Morning News.
Christie has managed to hold exclusive interviews with high-profile public figures such as Ambassador Andrew Young, a civil rights icon, and Attorney General Chris Carr. She participated in the coverage of Hurricane Michael, in the Gulf of Mexico. She gave minute-by-minute updates on the evacuation and events at the scene. When the weather became too dangerous to record with studio equipment, she packed and started recording using her phone. The coverage received an Emmy Award in 2018.
