Tracy Tong was born in Canada and raised by parents who descend from China. She was born on 31st May 1988. She celebrated her 34th birthday in 2022. Tracy is married to Matthew Corley. The couple had their wedding on 30th June 2019. Matt engaged Tracy on March 4th, 2018, and later had a colorful dinner date at Four Seasons Resort Sayan Ubud in Bali. Tracy went to school at Ryerson University where she pursued a degree in Broadcast Journalism from 2006 to 2010.

Tong started working immediately after graduating. She started at Rogers Tv where she worked as a Television reporter for 8 months. The young journalist later joined Global Tv as an Editorial Assistant. She later worked as an on-air reporter for media outlets such as CP24, City News, and CTV Northern Ontario.
She joined CTV News in August 2016 AS A News Reporter. Throughout her career, Tong has been able to cover events that have had national and international attention. She covered the killings of Bruce McArthur, the Danforth Shooting, and the Yonge Street Attack.
