Zuraidah Alman Biography
Zuraidah Alman is a Filipino-Canadian anchor and reporter working for CTV News. Prior to this position, she worked as a reporter, anchor, and weather specialist at CTV and Global Television. Alman has been in the journalism business for at least two decades.
Zuraidah Alman Husband and Personal Life
Zuraidah was born in the Philippines but relocated to Canada with her parents when she was two years. Adjusting to Canada was difficult for the family as her parents had to learn how to raise their children in Canada while still learning the Canadian culture themselves. Alman confessed that the democratic culture in Canada helped them to adapt fast since the country accepts other cultures. Zuraidah met her husband John Beattie in Canada. They later married and had a daughter called Mackenzie Elizabeth born on 8th January 2010.
Zuraidah Alman Education and Career
Being an immigrant, education was the perfect route to excel in her new home. She went to Ryerson University where she did broadcast journalism and later to York University where she pursued political science and government.
Zuraidah, 47 or 49, has more than 20 years of experience as a journalist. She started as a Reporter ad Weather specialist from 2001 to 2003 on Global Television. She left Global and joined City News as an anchor and reporter. Her time at Global was three years before she was later recalled at Global in 2006 as a Morning News Host and Anchor.
She stayed at Global Television for 2 years and joined CTV News as an Anchor and Reporter for 11.30 PM New. Her time as a journalist has been associated with inspiring events. She has covered stories that have had a national and international audience.
In 2003, Alman covered Northeast Blackout and the Boxing Day Shooting in 2005. In 2016 she covered the death of former Mayor Rob Ford, in 2019 she did a story on Toronto Raptors’ run to become the NBA Champions.

Although Zuraidah is not Canadian-born, she has reaped big from the democracy of Canada. She has worked herself to become an influential figure in Canada. She is a common face on Canadian Television. Her position in the TV station is not only a privilege to her family but also to Filipinos living in the country. She is both an inspirational figure and a career woman to look up to.
Her skills make her one of the high-income earners at CTV. She could be earning $75,000 per year. While she is not working, Zuraidah spends time with her family and their daughter.
She also participates in community service both as a journalist and individual. She was involved in Pride Month in Canada and the recognition of OPP- Highway Safety Division. Within the CTV fraternity, Zuraidah can be considered a veteran journalist alongside, Patricia Boal, Leanne Cusack who retired recently, and Lyndsay Morrison.
