Christina Watkins Biography
Christina Watkins,31, is an American award-winning journalist working for WESH as an anchor. She is popular for her prose, expertise, and passion to deliver authentic news to the public. Throughout her career, she has covered news that got national and international attention. Prior to working at WESH, Christina worked at big media stations such as WSDU, ESPNU and as a sports reporter for Florida International University.

Watkins celebrates her birthday on the 30th, of August. The 31-year-old was born in Oviedo, Florida with her sibling sister who passed on. Watkins comes from a loving and supportive family that saw her at the onset of her career until she was able to stand by herself. Now, she is a grown woman. Christina is in a relationship with Gee Smith. The two have been dating for over three years.

Watkins learn that education would play an important role in realizing her dream. She joined Florida International University where she did Broadcast Journalism and majored in communication. She was active in activities and societies in the school. Watkins was a member of the Black Student Union, National Association of Advanced Colored People and in 2010 she joined the National Association of Black Journalists.
Christina Watkins Career
As a student, Christina interned at Radio Evolution International as a sports reporter providing weekly updates on sports events. She also interned at Sunshine State Conference. Watkins had the most exciting internship when she joined WFTV as a sports intern. There she shot and edited stories of major sports events such as NASCAR and the NBA. She got her first full-time job as a student reporter for FIU Athletics. She covered sports in the school, hosted rallies, and interviewed FIU Athletes.
After leaving FIU, her first work was at WFOR-CBS4 where she worked as a Sports Associate producer. Her responsibilities were producing telecasts and editing. She also attended events and held interviews with players. Watkins then took minor reporting jobs at ESPNU, XOS Digital Sports Network, and Kia Motors America and also interned at WESH-TV.
Her breakthrough came when she joined KQTV as a Morning News Anchor. Christina served there for one and a half years before joining Spectrum as a weekend Morning Anchor. In January 2018, she was called to WDSU where she worked as an anchor for the 12. pm and 4. pm weekday News. In March 2022, Christina announced that she would be leaving WSDU for their sister station WESH in New Orleans, her native town. She would be serving there as the weekend anchor for News Sunrise.
