In 2020, Brandon was unfortunate to be involved in an accident. He was hit by a truck while attempting to cross the road. His friend Alex Parker, who happened to be on the same road, noticed Walker.
He rushed, covered Walker’s head, with a t-shirt to stop the bleeding, and asked the truck driver to call 911. Within minutes, the medical team arrived, picked up Walker, and rushed him to the hospital. After treatment, he was discharged from the hospital to recover. Now, every year, he commemorates the events that almost took his life.

Walker started as an intern at CBS News where he would write and edit daily news for CBS News and assist in the production of The CBS Evening News, The Early Show, and other CBS News programs.
While still in school, he tried working for Two Cent production as an anchor and producer, and WGNO-TV as an assignment editor and writer for The Lens Magazine. These working opportunities prepared him for the jobs he would be handling in the future.
In 2009, CBS News recalled him and officially employed him as a Broadcast associate who would anchor breaking news, handle interviews, and produce several programs for the station. He left CBS after 9 months and joined YNN Albany at Time Warner Cable as a reporter and fill-in anchor. His main responsibility was responding and giving feedback on general assignments.
Walker served there for two years before joining News 12 Networks in 2012 as an anchor and reporter. Here, Walker became the winner for 2013 Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for writing and first place award from the Connecticut chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and CT Press Club.
He was also nominated 8 times for New York Emmy Awards. He stayed at News 12 for 2 years and a half years and joined KPRC-tv as an anchor and reporter. Here he replicated the success he had at other media stations. He was awarded the Lone Star Emmy Award and several Edward R. Murrow Awards.
