Nicole Sommavilla, 28, is an American journalist working as a morning news anchor for News Channel 9. She is known for her perfection and love for details. She has previously worked as a freelance reporter and anchor at WSNN-TV.
Nicole Sommavilla Age and Relationship
Nicole was born on 1st July 1994 in Westchester Country where she was raised. She grew up in a Christian family where she learned the moral codes of living a fulfilling life. Nicole is also a sibling to Scott Sommavilla. The journalist is also in a relationship with Tommy Sladek, a sports director at CNY Central Syracuse. The couple have been dating for a little over two years.

Sommavilla went to Mercy College where she studied Spanish Language and Literature. After graduating, she joined Ithaca College where she did bachelor’s degree in Television and Radio and minored in Integrated Marketing Communications and Politics.
As a student, Nicole demonstrated leadership abilities by pariticipating as a Student Ambasador in the school’s President’s Host Committee. She assisted students in adjusting and settling in the school. Nicole got her first hand in employment when she became an evening anchor and reporter at WSNN-TV. Her duties were prodicing 10 and 11 pm boradcast and co-anchor in SNN Evening Edition weekly at 5-7 pm News and 10-11:30 pm News. Nicole’s other roles were covering live and breaking news on the field and on the desk.
She left The Suncoast News Network in 2018 and became a freelance reporter, focused on business, politics, and crime news at all hours. This led her to News Channel 9 where she joined as an Anchor and Reporter. Her initial roles were assisting in the production and anchoring, reporting breaking news, and training new employees.
After two years, she became the morning news anchor. In her career, Nicole has covered all manner of news. She covered Hurricane Irma and has interviewd popular public figures and celebrities. In 2018, she earned the Telly Award for covering Living with Lyme, which she suffered from.

College life was difficult for Nicole as she suffered from Lyme disease which caused pain in her neck, shoulder, and throat. The disease caused nausea and constant thwoing up. She went to the medical center and the condition was determined to be serious. Nicole’s friend took her to a bigger hospital where she spent 5 days in ICU. Doctors later discovered that Niocle had Lyme disease caused by infected blacklegged ticks.

She volunteers in Girls Scouts of the USA where she received a Gold Award. Nicole also loves to spend time with her family and doing outdoor activities.
