Before going all-in in journalism, Sabrina worked as an Executive Sales Assistant and Social Media representative for United Steel Products. Although the company was not journalist-oriented, she was involved in work related to creating stories as she wrote, edited, and proofread marketing-related letters. As a student, Franza got an opportunity to intern at 8 organizations, all equipping her with the skills and knowledge required in the media industry. By the time she was in her first employment, the young journalist had familiarised herself with the ropes of the industry.
She got her first employment opportunity at New 12 Networks as a Fill-in anchor, political, investigative, and general assignment reporter while still working as a freelance correspondent for i24 News. After three years, she joined WBBM, CBS Chicago, an opportunity she took with great enthusiasm.
In the few years Sabrina has been working, she has had the opportunity to cover the Coronavirus pandemic, especially in New York. She covered the impact the pandemic had on the economy and the recovery strategies the state government employed to stabilize the economy.
Sabrina was part of the team that covered post-George Floy’s death. She documented the unrest and tension that followed suit. The young journalist gathered strength and went after Restaurant Revitalization Progam, initiated by the Federal government, with an aim to uncover millions of dollars said to be missing.
Post-pandemic, Sabrina exposed gross mismanagement of resources in city government through unnecessary COVID-related fines, particularly on small businesses. Sabrina was part of the team that exposed the inhuman COVID-19 procedures in Federal detention. Press Club was one of the organizations that their work.
In October 2022, she announced her first Emmy Award for investigative reporting.
