Deja Brown Biography
Deja Brown, 26, is an American multimedia journalist working for WDSU as a Morning/Midday news anchor and traffic reporter. Her proficiency stems from her passion for storytelling and giving in-depth information to the community. Although she is young, Brown has demonstrated zeal to become a nationally and globally renowned journalist. She has previously worked at KSNF, KODE, WFTX, and iHearMedia.
Deja Brown Age and Husband
The NewOrleans native was born on 10th January 1996. She grew up in a Christian background where she learned the values of morals and family. Brown demonstrated the same when she married James Brown on 15th May 2021. As of 2022, the couple is yet to have a child. However, her fans can be expecting one in the near future.
Deja Brown Education
Deja showed glimpses of a journalist from as early as 10 years old. In 4th grade, she was part of the team reporting the morning newscast for her school. As she grew up, her desire for becoming a journalist grew leading her to join North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where she studied Journalism and Mass Communication
. Knowing what she wanted, Deja participated in Campus Television Shows as the Host of Aggie News and Sports Report Host. She graduated in 2017 Magna Cum Laude. Immediately after graduating, she did her MBA in communication and media studies where she specialized in Journalism Innovation.
Deja Brown Career
Brown’s passion for journalism led her to intern at various media networks where she got real experience as a journalist. She first interned at the Georgia Department of Transportation where she was a communications intern.
Her responsibilities were creating and implementing communication strategies for companies and developing graphics and promotional materials that promote safety in the work environment
. Brown later interned at WGHP as a production assistant who was responsible for producing stories for an audience of 1.5 million views and coordinated with reporters to create engaging content for live programs.
Doja started working officially in 2018 when she joined Entercom as a News Anchor and Reporter. Her duties were preparing content for a live broadcast to over 1.2 million listers and assisting in providing content in a timely fashion for 7 daily newscasts.
She was an employee at Entercom for close to one years before later joining WFTX as a reporter and morning news producer where she managed content, and did live graphics, and station branding.
After one year, Brown joined iHeartMedia in the transport department where she provided daily transport reports every 10 minutes and monitored real-time traffic cameras, and reported up-to-date traffic conditions.
In 2019, Brown joined Nexstar Media Group Inc as a reporter and anchor at KODE and later at KSNF as a Morning/Noon Anchor. Brown joined WDSU in 2021 as a traffic anchor and breaking news reporter. She provides real-time information about traffic and monitors cameras to give reports throughout the day.

Brown participates in community work or contributes to the National Association of Black Journalists when she is not working.
