Prophet Lovy Elias Story
The story of Prophet Lovy begins in Nairobi, Kenya where he was born and raised. Growing up in a highly musical family, Lovy was naturally inclined to music. Together with his brother Christian Longomba, they decided to follow in their family’s footsteps. They skipped school several times to do a recording of their songs.
The duo formed the group the Longombas and released their first song Dondosa, produced by Lucas Bikedo of the Ogopa DJ Studio in South C, Nairobi. The song went viral, making features on Kenya’s popular radio stations, Kiss FM, and Nation FM, just to name a few. The song ushered them into the Kenyan market, encouraging them to release other hits such as Piga Makofi, Vuta Pumz, and Queen.
The duo disbanded after moving to the United States to take Kenyan music to the global level. Living in the United States was an interesting experience because they got exposed to an environment outside Kenya.
Lovy grew in his production skills and had the privilege to get a Grammy nomination and a production opportunity for Iggy Azalea, T.I, and K Michelle. In 2015, the unfortunate happened. His long-time friend and brother died of Cancer.
Prophet Lovy Elias Twin Brother Christian Longomba
Like many other successful people, Lov’s determination for success was tested. In 2015, Christian was diagnosed with a brain tumor. According to his words, Christian confessed that doctors claimed the tumor was big and that they needed time to study and plan how to remove it. He later went through a successful surgery. However, he suffered from internal bleeding leading to another surgery, which was also successful.
Despite the surgery, the tumor did not heal. It continued spreading in his brain. 6 years later, on 13 March 2021, Christian Longomba succumbed to the illness. It came as a shocker to his twin-brother Lovy Longomba, whose ministry in the church had just started. Lovy discredited reports saying cancer killed his brother. He argued his brother’s death was a result of brain injuries.
