Ally Peters Biography
Ally Peters describes herself as a hardworking team player and leader in the newsroom. She is an American journalist working as a morning news anchor and reporter for WROC-TV, Rochester New York. Peters has had experience reporting politics, and health news. crime and breaking news. She has previously worked at WAOW, KOMU, and as an Intern at The Crossing.

Ally Peters was born on 21st September 1995 and grew up in Lakeville, Minnesota. Together with her colleagues, she celebrated her 27th birthday in 2022. Peters is the first-born daughter of Craig and Amy Wallenta. She has a young sister called Claire Wallenta. Ally is married to Charlie Peters. The two exchanged vows on 10th November 2018. They are yet to have children.

Ally became passionate about journalism from a young age. Her desire to be on the screen led her to journalism while she was studying at Lakeville North High school. As a student, she was involved in CAPA Global Education Network, a community drama club, a religion teacher at the local church, and a public speaker at school. She later joined the University of Missouri where she did Broadcast Journalism. As a CAPA student council, she developed and maintained relationships with the teaching staff and international students.
Ally Peters Career
She started working on her journalism skills when she joined KOMU-TV as a production assistant where she worked with anchors and field reporters to ensure on-time delivery of news. Ally also assisted in editing news packages. After 5 months, the station promoted her to desk assistant where she learned to develop knowledge of all components of the equipment used in the station.
Later, she worked at KBIA 91.3 FM radio reporter and editor. She interviewed guests and wrote and edited web stories on issues demanded by the 30,000 listeners subscribed to the station. She got an internship opportunity at London Live TV. There, Ally assisted in daily news package production, interviewing residents in London, politician,s and city officials regarding events happening in the community.
As part of community service, Peters interned at The Crossing as an Agape Intern where she supervised more than 60 children with special needs, planned and organized a holiday party for more than 100 individuals, and spoke with parents regarding their children’s faith.
Ally got her first employment opportunity when she joined WAOW as an Evening News Anchor. She had had this experience while working for KOMU for close to 1 year. As an anchor, the station tasked her with writing, editing, and producing shows on a daily basis, reporting while on the field and using social media to break news, and informing the public of matters happening in real time. The Wisconsin Broadcaster Association recognized her as the second-best live on-scene reporter.
In April 2021, she joined WROC-TV News 8 as the News Anchor and Reporter. After 10 months, the station promoted her to Morning News anchor and reporter at WROC. Ally is also the host of the Golden Apple Award, a segment that recognized local teachers for their work in the community. While in this position, Peters has covered the effects of COVID-19, crime, court cases, breaking news, and investigative stories. She left WROC-TV in October 2022, promising to update her audience on her next move.

Ally Peters is a huge contributor to society. She volunteered at GiGi’s Playhouse Inc- Down Syndrome Achievement Center as a founding member. She served as the vice president and assisted in raising funds. Ally is also a mentor in Big Brother Big Sister on America to a young girl in Wisconsin. Ally’s goal is to build maturity and establish a positive and life-changing relationship.
Outside work, Ally loves traveling, and spending time with her parents and husband. She affords a comfortable life from the approximately $70,000 salary she earned as a journalist.
