Shane Hinton Biography

Education

His passion for meteorology kicked in when he was in middle school. This desire made him study atmospheric sciences and meteorology and minor in Electronic media and mathematics at the University of Miami. After completing the course in 2015, he joined the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science for master studies. While in school, he interned as a researcher who assisted in interpreting data to detect and remove inaccuracies in forecast models for hurricanes.

Shane Hinton Career

Shane started working as a Host at UMTV Pulse where he interviewed guests about topics of interest and their personal lives. He left the job after 5 months to join Thyssenkrupp Elevator as a meteorology consultant who monitored on-site weather during game time for the University of Miami Football Team. He raised the alarm when extreme weather conditions were expected.

After his master’s, he worked at NBC News as a weather intern for 3 months. Shane Hinton learned to use WSI Max to create graphics, update weather forecast information, and link with the National Weather Service to access recorded forecast data. He joined his first meteorological employment at WCTI TV 12 as a weekend meteorologist. He learned to use various forecast models to create accurate weather forecasts, update weather information, and present personalized weather updates. His work made him a top-ranked talent on Twitter and Facebook.

He worked there for 2 years before joining KVUE Media group as a meteorologist. His weather forecast analysis was focused on Central Texas. Hinton also did his shows on Midday and Weekend Daybreak Programs. He was also responsible for updating the website with current and real-time weather information.

On October 21st, 2022, Shane announced a job promotion on his Instagram. KVUE promoted him from midday to Daybreak meteorologist on weekdays. Shane joined the morning team. His promotions come at a time when he demonstrated. hard work and value for the organization.

Salary

Shane is still at the beginning stages of his career. He has demonstrated the potential to go even further in his career. He has been certified by The American Red Cross First Aid and by SKYWARN as Storm Spotter. Hinton provided coverage for Hurricane Florence, the coverage that got an Emmy nomination.
