Her natural inclination to leadership led her to take leading responsibilities since she was in High School. Now, Jovian Zayne,37, is a transformation leader, consultant, CEO, and founder of OnPurpose Movement. Her company is dedicated to developing purpose-driven leaders through training them, coaching, public speaking, and facilitation. For two decades of practicing as an international speaker and leader, Zayne has had the privilege to speak at Google, Spotify, Facebook, The Robin Hood Foundation, and others.

She comes from New York to a family that supported the person she was becoming. Jovian was born on 4th September 1985 in a Christian background where she learned from her parents’ high moral values and the importance of family. Her pursuit of a spouse, however, was difficult as a college as she went through devastating breakups. In 2005, she met George Peters who was at his brother’s house in Wondaland, Atlanta. They connected, became friends, and when feelings got stirred the two started dating. On 6th October 2017, Jovian and George tied the knot. They are blessed with one child.
Education
Her pursuit for excellence started at Wake Forest University where she was a graduate of business management. She later joined the University of North Caroline to pursue a course in Psychology. Actively participating in school matters made her the first African American woman to be elected senior class president.
As a student, Jovian worked part-time as a retail specialist, brand representative, and sales marketing manager for Black and Decker.
Career
In 2008, she joined Teach for America as a manager tasked with setting the vision, directing, and implementing events that featured leaders and celebrities. She was later promoted to director of Talent Recruitment. While in this position, Zayne collaborated with leaders across the region to develop strategies for open roles and provide professional development to leaders across the region.
In May 2012, she was made the managing director of Talent Recruitment. Her roles were increasing diversity in the staff, negotiating partnerships with other regional leaders, and participating in hiring selected individuals.
Zayne founded her company, onPurpose Movement in 2015. Her firm’s mission is developing leadership skills, increasing diversity in workplaces, and initiating change through public speaking, coaching, and training. In 2016, she created an annual international day of purpose where she aims to inspire people to celebrate their purpose and activate their power of purpose.
Through her company, Zayne has partnered with organizations such as The Obama Administration, The Big Brothers Big Sisters, and other public figures. She has also had the opportunity to speak at The New York Times, Spotify, IDEO, and Havard University just to name a few.
