Hanna Powers Biography

At college, she was selected as a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee where she represented the interests of her team and participated in Student Leadership. Powers also operated as a chair of the Elections Commission who was responsible for creating awareness of the campus events and developing marketing campaigns.
While in Madeira, she interned at several companies. Powers started at Washington International Horse Show where she was the youth ambassador tasked with implementing community programs that target young people. After 1 year, she joined the Office of Senator John McCain as the Capitol Hill Intern whose duties were completing independent tasks and conducting tours.
After joining college, Powers interned at Marriot Internation in the Global Operations group. She was responsible for doing field research and developing internal communication products.
In 2019, Hannah got her first opportunity as a journalist. She joined Carolina News as a reporter and anchor. She created daily newscasts, conducted interviews, edited news, and reported breaking news. After 5 months, she joined Sarasota Magazine as a reporter doing 5 to 7 online stories, interviews, and writing copy. Hannah was more focused on lifestyle topics and local news.
In 2020, she joined WCBD News as a reporter and later as a morning Traffic anchor and midday show anchor. In February 2022, she assumed the role of the morning anchor.
As a journalist, Hanna has covered many stories. She has done presidential debates, presidential visits, crime, and the coronavirus pandemic. Hanna has also covered top events such as Hurricane Ian and its impact in South Carolina.
