Sarah Bloom Biography

One of the pinnacle strengths of a journalist is the ability to show the depth of knowledge and familiarity with the topic covered. In her experience as a journalist, Sarah Bloom has earned the respect of media outlets because of making this pinnacle attribute a reality.

Whether in investigative news, crime, politics, and lifestyle, Bloom displays deep knowledge. She is an anchor at NBC 12 News Today and at Fox Richmond’s Morning News. Bloom is also a contributor at RVAParenting blog where she talks about matters that affect families. Sarah Bloom Age and Husband

Sarah Bloom was born on 29th January 1985 in Iowa and later in North Carolina. She was raised Christian and is still a regular attendant of the Catholic Church now as an adult. As a child, Sarah knew she wanted to have a family and children. The desire of having her own family led to her union with her husband, Sandy, who she met at Washington and Lee University. The couple got married in 2013 and their union was blessed with three children:  Michael, John, and daughter Marian.

Sarah was interested in journalism from a young age. Her passion led her to Pleasant Valley Highschool where she learned leadership skills. After swimming classes, Sarah would go home and watch her favorite news where she got exposed to the idea of storytelling and covering other people’s stories.

Bloom was also active in swimming, which she practiced after she joined Washington and Lee University where she pursued broadcast journalism and minored in sociology.

While in school, she landed an internship opportunity at CNN where she learned to shoot, edit and write newscasts. Together with some friends later on, they started an independent broadcast in school called The Week in General, which covered activities that happened in the school.

Sarah Bloom Career

After graduating, Sarah got her first employment at WOAY where she worked as a reporter and anchor during the weekend. This opportunity opened her to the field of journalism where she quickly learned everything about the field. She later joined WSET as a reporter and anchor. There she got an opportunity to do in-depth coverage of small communities and the field of sports.

After three years, she joined NBC 12. The first few months in the organization were hectic as she had to cover major stories such as an earthquake, tornado, hurricane, and other events. Sarah quickly took the stories without complaining because she knew they were learning opportunities. After serving for some time, the organization promoted her to full-time morning anchor.

In her time as a journalist, Sarah has been involved in covering nationwide news. She covered a study by VCU researchers, which aimed to study the long-term impact of Covid-19 on Children. Sarah also did a story on Gay Conversion Therapy, where she interviewed a lesbian and a gay and later shared their thoughts about conversion therapy.

Sarah’s position as an all-around journalist has earned her 6 Emmy Awards and several others from other associations.

Other than doing big stories in her role as an anchor, Sarah’s concern about families led her to participate in the RVA parenting blog where she has done stories like ways to drop baby weight, meeting your parent tribe, tips for getting divorced with minimal impact to your kids, and other stories.

Her concern with family earned her an exclusive feature in Richmond Family Magazine in 2018.

When she is not working, Sarah loves giving back to society by offering services. She has contributed by participating in social welfare organizations and visiting organizations that promote the wellness of children. Sarah is also active in raising awareness of the mental challenges and suicide causes among the youth in the country.

Although Bloom does not love the idea of appearance She believes a woman’s appearance should not be a factor to gauge her determination to succeed, especially in the field of journalism. Her position in regard to appearance has not discouraged many from asking about her appearance.
