Natalie Kalibat Biography
If success could be defined as doing what you love and making money out of it, then Natalie Kalibat is one of the most successful women in the United States. From a young age, she has competed as a diving athlete and grown to become a professional swimmer and diver. Now, she is a journalist, with more than 6 years of experience doing sports, hosting, and diving analysis play-by-play. How did Natalie have such a beautiful run in her career? Natalie Kalibat Age, Family and Husband
She was born on 17th October 1996/7. Natalie comes from a family of swimmers. Her mother, sister, and brother were professional swimmers competing for different schools. Her love for sports led her to meet Rich Witten in 2019 who was an assistant baseball coach at that time. The two got along well, became close friends, and started dating. On 18th December 2021, they two exchanged vows. Their union has been blessed by one child James Richard Witten III. Rich Witten currently serves as the baseball coach at Florida International University.
Education
The journey of becoming a diver and journalist started at The Lewis School of Princeton and later she joined the University of Southern California where she majored in sociology and sports journalism. At school, she was a division 1 diver of the USC Diving Team. Kalibat participated in the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and Pac-12 Conference Champions in 2016.
While at school, she interned at KNBC TV as a producer and sports journalist who developed content for Going Roggin and The Challenge. Kalibat also helped in editing the show’s content. Natalie was also a consulting intern at Wasserman Media Group, an NFL Microsoft account. She was tasked with reporting daily news to the main office in New York, which was 3 hours ahead of time in LA. Kalibat was also a runner at ESPN for swimming nationals, MLS Media Dat, and Basketball events.
Career
After graduating, she got a job as a sports anchor and reporter at WBOY-TV. Her duties were anchoring and producing weekday sportscasts and developing highlights. After 1 year, she joined the Nexstar Media Group as a full-time sports anchor. For the 1 year, she worked there, Kalibat coordinated news coverage by writing, editing, and reporting content and she was also the main anchor on weekdays.
On the side, she was working as a Broadcaster for the Big Ten Network where they analyzed women’s diving championships. Kalibat works there on a freelance basis. She was also a freelance broadcaster at ACC Network Extra where she did interviews with coaches, commentated on swimming championships, and analyzed results. Now, she is a freelance diving analyst at the Big 12 conference where she does play-by-play analysis for diving championships and helps in producing and directing events.
As a sports journalist, Kalibat has covered stories like the stepping down of Coach Bronco Mendenhall and the Impact Covid-19 had on athletes.
