He was born on 23rd September 1979 in Salt Lake City. Carlson realized early in his life that he would work as a journalist. For as long as he can remember, Brian has been on the screens. In his personal life, he is married to Liz Carlson. Brian is a step day to 4 children all of which were born in Liz’s previous relationship.
As a young man passionate about journalism he joined Brigham Young University where he did a degree in Broadcast Journalism. After graduating, Brian got his first job at KNDU where he was a reporter. He worked there for 5 years covering news like the Olympics, President Obama’s presidential campaigns, and other national news.
He later joined ABC Utah as a co-anchor with Jillian Smukler for Good Morning Utah and Midday anchor. Brian has been involved in doing many reports like the NBA competitions, Obama’s victory during the 2008 elections, and Wood Hollow Wildfire. Recently, he has covered the devastating effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in Texas and the mechanism the government employed to bounce back to normalcy.
In 2012, Brian did a report called The Spice in the City that helped police capture a drug dealer. He won an Emmy for the story.
As of 2023, Brian Carlson has served close to 20 years as a journalist. He can be considered a veteran because he has demonstrated longevity power. Outside work, he loves spending time with family and traveling around.
