Aaron Thomas Personal Life

Although watching television can be disguised as a bad habit, many people’s futures were decided because they watched something on television. Aaron Thomas grew up watching news on WRAL, a desire was birthed in him and now he works at the station as a reporter.

He also works as a voice announcer for North Carolina State Marching Band. Prior to his current position, Aaron worked at WRIC and WTAJ. He is exceptional at telling stories and getting the public to share their views about a topic he is covering.

Thomas is a North Carolina native born on 26th December 1991. He came from a stable family, which was crucial for his upbringing. Being an adult now, Thomas is yet to start his own family. We have observed that he lives as a single man.

Education

Thomas was actively involved in societies and groups as a student at Harnett Central High School. He served as a trumpet and Mellophone Player. He also volunteered at the public library. Thomas later joined North Carolina State University where he did a degree in communications.

He was majorly involved with sports and athletics. Thomas served as a Camera Operator during athletic tournaments and a staff writer for The Nubia Message, an African American student newspaper in the school.

Outside school, he got an internship opportunity at ABC 11 Eyewitness where he assisted reporters in gathering news. Thomas also joined Time Warner Cables News as an assignment desk assistant and an assistant reporter.

He did his final internship at WNCN. There, the upcoming reporter was tasked with publishing web stories and assisting photojournalists. In his senior year, Aaron was selected as one of the 12 fellows to train for advanced multimedia journalism in a weeklong intensive program.

Career

After graduation, Thomas got his first job as a reporter, MMJ, and fill-in anchor at WTAJ-TV. His duties were using social media to promote stories and breaking news. He also edited news content and presented live reports. After 2 years, he joined ABC 8 News as a reporter and fill-in anchor doing the same responsibilities as in his previous job.

Thomas worked at 8 News for 2 years before joining WRAL in his home area. His duties are using social media to engage the audience, developing contacts, and pitching stories. Thomas has covered stories like the impact of the Supreme Court decision to allow full access to the abortion pill in North Carolina. He also covered the 2023 Dreamville Festival which attracted more than 50,000 people.

In 2022, Thomas became a seasonal announcer of the North Carolina State Marching Band. While on duty, he announced pre-game and halftime selections.
