Juliana Valencia Biography, Age and Husband

In 2018, Juliana Valencia made it to The Business Journal’s 40 under 40. She is a general assignment reporter and Fill-in anchor for NBC Washington and Telemundo 44. Prior to her current position, Juliana was an anchor at WHAS TV, a reporter at WPSD, and a swim instructor at the Paducah Athletic Club. She is a professional at doing live interviews, engaging with the audience, and pitching new stories.

She was born on 2nd February 1991 in Gainesville. Juliana is the only child and first-generation Colombian immigrant to Serna Leon and Julia Valencia. She is married to Nathan Theodore Lozanoski. The wedding happened at the Chapel of the Resurrection in November 2022.

Education

Although she identifies as an American, she grew up in a home where Spanish was spoken. As she became old, Juliana got a desire to become a journalist. She went to the University of Florida to pursue a degree in broadcasting and a minor in Business Administration.

In her sophomore year, she worked as a floor manager and camera operator for WUFT in North Central Florida. Her other passion for swimming earned her Life Guard opportunity and life coach at school and in Brentwood.

In her junior years, Julian worked as a sports intern at WCJB TV20 where she filmed high school sports, set up a studio for interviews, and edited local casts. She also interned at CNN in the production department and as a Spanish-speaking reporter. All this time, she worked as a contributing writer for Olympia Media Group.

Career

After school, Valencia got her first employment at WUFT News Gainesville, Florida Area. She started as a specialty anchor and reporter. Juliana was tasked with producing and anchoring special entertainment and technology news. She also served as a producer for a 40-minute show and sound bites.

In 2013, she moved to New Bern to work for WCTI and Fox as an MMJ and fill-in anchor. She also worked part-time as a swim coach for YMCA Twin Rivers. Juliana coached adults and the young swim lessons.

In 2014, she moved to Paducah, Kentucky to work as a morning anchor and reporter. After two years, she transferred to WHAS TV. She started as a weekday morning and midday anchor and was later promoted to main evening anchor for noon and 4 pm news.

2019 saw her greatest promotion when she was called to work for NBC Washington and Telemundo 44 as a news reporter and anchor. She does reports in both English and Spanish.

Recently she has been involved in covering the impact of wildfires on the quality of air in Washington D.C, and Arlington’s County Policy that allows high school students to carry naxolone drugs which reverses an overdose.

Juliana’s hard work all the way to the top has been coupled with difficulties. She confessed to The Business Journal that one time, her first employer did not let her fill in on the anchor desk because he thought of her as ineligible to be on the desk. The bad treatment only propelled her desire to put in more work.

She is now a highly-paid journalist. Her annual salary could be approximately $60,000-$70,000. When she is not working, Juliana is teaching swimming lessons or travels with her husband.

Her physical appearance is that of Latin descent. Juliana’s hair is dark, her skin brown and her height is 5 feet and 6 inches. In the media industry, she is representing the Latin community alongside, Mari Salazar, Adriana Mendez, Candice Aviles, and Monica Garcia
