Nicole Di Donato is a young face on the Canadian screens but a favorite to many. Currently, she works as an anchor and multimedia journalist for CTV Calgary. Prior to occupying this position, she served as a radio host, producer, and video journalist. Throughout her life, she has displayed excellence in storytelling, doing live interviews, and engaging with the public.

Nicole Di Donato Education and Career
Coming from a relatively stable family birthed the idea of doing the same as her parents. She went to school at Toronto Metropolitan University, formerly Ryerson University, where she earned a degree in journalism. While in school, she was selected to participate in an 8-week intensive film making workshop where she learned to write, cast, and shoot original films.
After graduating she got an opportunity as a floor director at CHIN Radio and Television where she maintained order, prepared the set prior to the show, and announced the winners.
Nicole Di Dinato also worked as a radio host and producer at CJRU 1280 AM where she hosted an hour-long radio show on arts and culture in Toronto. Di Donato also served as the music director of the radio show.
She moved to TV in 2019 as an intern at CTV Saskatoon where she was a reporter who pitched news stories, conducted interviews, and edited and reported stories for TV and the Web. Nicole got her first employment at CTV Northern Ontario where she was a video journalist responsible for pitching stories, developing original local news, and filing for web.
In 2020, she moved back to Saskatoon to work as a video journalist doing live hits in the studio and in the field. She wrote articles and posted them on the website. After 2 years, Nicole was promoted to 6 and 11.30 pm news anchor and reporter. She provided guidance to weekend reporters and did weather newscasts.
She also assisted in creating and writing original stories. In June 2022, she moved to CTV Calgary to work as an MMJ and Anchor responsible for shooting, writing, and editing multiple newscasts. She was also tasked with writing in-depth articles to accompany TV Stories.

As a journalist, Nicole has been involved in some high-profile local, national, and international stories. She helped in covering the 2020 provincial and municipal elections in the country. She covered the New Zealand Terrorist attacks and China’s decision to ban canola imports.
Nicole did extensive coverage of the impact of Covid-19 on Saskatchewan’s healthcare system. Nicole also has a passion for covering local issues affecting people. She has done reports on drug use, drug addiction, gang violence, and fire hazards in some of the local neighborhoods.
