Mary Cranson is slowly becoming a Vancouver favorite news anchor. She currently serves as a breaking news and late news anchor. We can say that she operates as a nocturnal anchor but soon we predict that her proficient storytelling skills will be seen during the day or weekends. Before stepping foot on CTV, she served at Breakfast Television as a host and a reporter at CTV News

Mary Cranson comes from the Greater Toronto Area. The 32 or 33-year-old comes from a big family. Her father recently celebrated his 70th birthday. Growing up in a stable family had Mary desiring to have her stable family as well. In August 2022, she got married to her long-time best friend Mr J Hannah. The two had a beautiful wedding held at Tamahaac Club. It was graced by their colleagues, family, and close friends.
Mary Cranston Education and Career
Mary was an ambitious student earlier on. She went to Fanshawe College where she earned a diploma in broadcast journalism. She later furthered her education by studying post-grad for the same course.
Mary’s work experience started at Rogers Communications as a reporter, writer, and news anchor for 570 News. In 2014, she got promoted to a host and producer. She later joined CTV as a writer and reporter in Kitchener. Mary served there for 2 years before moving to Saint John to work as a Video Journalist.
In 2018, she moved to Vancouver to work as a Host and Producer at Breakfast Television. The fast-paced station introduced her to the most challenging and exciting opportunities. She got to have a conversation with high-profile figures like athletes, artists, and even musicians. While at BT, she was able to increase the network’s social media presence by regularly sharing content and working on voice-over skills. Mary served there for 2 years before moving to CTV News to work as an anchor, host, and producer.

Her work at CTV has been exciting. Mary has been involved in breaking some of the hottest local, national, and international news. Mrs. Cranston reported on how an increase in population and rising inflation are leading to an increase in rent by more than 14 percent in Vancouver. Mary was up and going during the COVID-19 pandemic.
She reported a new way of tracking the Omicron Wave after the COVID-19 Modelling group announced that they are unaware of how COVID-19 has spread in British Columbia. Mary also reported on the Vancouver Park Board, which Jose Raphael accused of having a toxic working culture. Mr Raphael claimed that Vancouver Park practiced racism, bullying, and harassment. Recently she covered a civilian aircraft crash that left 2 people dead. She also led in the coverage of discoveries involving studying insect behavior to predict weather conditions.
As she has an exciting time as a journalist, Mary Cranston continues to influence young journalist who desires to be like her. In 2018, she was privileged to win a Regional Edward Murrow award for covering elections. When she is not on her official duties, Mary is relaxing at home with her husband, discovering new restaurants, or traveling. At CTV she is a collegue to Nafeesa Karim and Julie Atchison.
