She was born on 30th April 1991 as the firstborn of 5 children born to Rebecca Eli and her husband who played baseball at Bowling Green State University after moving from Vincennes University. Being born into a sports fanatic family, Simone had to follow suit even in her relationships. She is married to Alma Brant High School football Coach, Bart Session. The couple have one son and we can almost predict that the child will somehow be involved in sports as he grows up.

Education

Being born into a sports family, Simone had a natural leaning for sports. She started at Genoa Area Local High School where she bagged Regional Basketball Player of the Year, League Player of the Year, and All-State Basketball Player of the Year. She later joined Bowling Green State University to study journalism and later a master’s degree in sports administration. As an athlete in college, she was able to help her team win the Mid-American Conference Championships 3 times and the NCAA Tournament twice.

Although she was active as an athlete, he eyes were fixed on the media side of sports. She interned for WUPW and later at WTOL. She practiced her directing skills at the school’s TV station.

Career in Sports

After graduating, she got her first job at Toledo with BCSN/WTOL 11 as a sports photographer and reporter who helped in producing weekly sports news. Simone Eli later moved to WALA, Fox’s affiliate as an anchor and sports director for 1 year before serving as a sports anchor at KPRC.

In 2015, she did The Steve Shannon Morning Show with Simone Eli on Tuscaloosa’s 95.3 The Bear for 5 months before her time at Birmingham in CBS 42 as an anchor and reporter. In 2021, she moved to her current job in Mobile first as a sports reporter and later as an anchor and director.

In her career as a journalist, she has covered big moments like Kick-6 and the BCS National Championship Game. At WKRG, she has a series called Zaxby’s Player of the Year where she highlights the achievements of different players. Players who have been recognized in her category are Derrick “DJ” Butler and. She also covered the college’s historic moment when Mobile Christian won the 3A State Championship.
