His passion for excelling in life started when he was young. He aspired to be a journalist. This passion led him to join Michigan State University where he pursued a course in Broadcast Journalism. He participated in the school’s Media Outlet, Focal Point News, which earned an Emmy Award.
Black has been a hard-working person since a young age. He juggled being a dishwasher and Server at Sterling Heights in Michigan and a journalist student. He did this to make money on the side for his personal needs. His job did not deter him from seeking to have the best in school work. Still as a student and employee, Tony interned at HOMTV as a reporter responsible for creating news packages and helping anchor daily morning news. He also helped in the production department. He later joined FOX2 as a News Intern, writing scripts for a show called The Nine. Black also helped in handling the social media handles for the station and ensuring interactions were frequent and engaging. He did his last internship program at WOOD-TV where he was a general assignment reporter.
After graduating, Black got his first employment opportunity at CNY Central where he was a multimedia journalist and reporter with WSTM, NBC3, WTVH, CBS5, and CW6. Here, he got the opportunity to cover the impact of Covid-19 on the country. He also reported the struggles daycare institutions went through to keep kids masked and the struggles internal security forces encountered while trying to establish calmness in a frustrated-filled country. After two years, he joined FOX61 and CW20 as a reporter and multi-skilled journalist.
