Of the billions of people living in this world, one goal we all desire is achieving fulfilling success. Unfortunately, most people go to the grave without having achieved their success or when they achieved what many would consider success, they missed fulfillment by far. When Valorie Burton was a sales specialist, she realized that many people desperately wanted to have a fulfilling life over having success.
Within her, she knew she had a solution for them. Like many other entrepreneurs, she took the bull by the horns and followed her dream. Now, she is an icon and a woman of influence who has graced the television and radio with her encouraging personal story and tried and tested strategies for living a joyful life. Valarie Burton is an inspirational speaker, author, and teacher of the principles life.
Personal Details, Divorce and First Husband
She was born on 15th January 1973 in Florida but spent the majority of her childhood in more than 10 states because her father served in the Military for 24 years. She is also a sibling to her young brother, Wade, 30 years old as of 2023. Her traumatic experience began in her home when her parents divorced, something she confessed to fearing to experience.
As much as Valorie Burton feared what happened to her family, she could not escape it as an adult. She got married early in life but her marriage with her first husband ended in divorce after being together for 6 years. One of the reasons for the divorce was perhaps the fact that she could not bear children. The two separated when Valorie was in her late 30s.
Valorie Burton confessed in an interview that the divorce was one of her greatest tests because it threatened her desire to be a mother and also a wife. Keeping a positive outlook on life had things favoring her. In December 2013, she got married to Jeff Burton. Against all odds, a child was born from their marriage when she was 42 years old. Now, Valorie is a biological mother to Alex and a bonus mother to Sophie, 20, and Addie, 16.
Education and Career
Growing up, Valorie Burton understood the importance of Education for having a successful life. She started at Smoky Hill High School and later proceeded to United States Air Force Academy. She went for higher studies at Florida State University where she was doing international relations and Affairs. She later did an MS in Journalism at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. In 2007, she went back to school to do a master’s degree in Applied Positive Psychology.
Like most people, she applied for a job in a course she had studied. A few years into the sales business as director of marketing, she realized that her passion was building people. In 1997, she decided to quit her job and follow her dreams. She started the Burton Agency, a public relations firm. After 4 years, the company had picked and money was coming in but after a few years, she realized her newfound freedom was not fulfilling.
The Coaching and Positive Psychology (CaPP) Institute
She went and started the Coaching and Positive Psychology (CaPP) Institute, where she could educate people on ways to succeed in life. Valorie Burton invested more than 15 years studying how the mind operates and the power of resiliency. Over the years, she was able to speak to different people and travel to more than 10 countries inspiring and educating people of the principles of life. She added to her shelf of achievement 12 books that have been an inspiration to people facing difficult times in life.
Her work has also been featured on The Today Show, Essence, The Los Angeles Times, NPR, OZ, CNN, and other major publications. Before becoming a speaker, she also spent time as a TV personality and a model. Mrs. Burton is a former Miss Black Texas USA and a Miss Texas runner-up. She was also a co-host with TD Jakes on The Potter’s Touch, which was aired on TBN and BET.

Valorie Burton’s passion is to see people thrive in their personal, relationship, marriage, and career lives despite the challenges in life. She practices what she teaches since she also faced the pains of life such as the divorce of her parents, her divorce, and her battle with infertility.
Conquering all of this and remaining positive affirm her belief in what she teaches. She is particularly vocal about the power of affirmation, prayer, and knowing God deeply. Her story of victory has also been experiencing by Coach Gessie Thompson and Jennifer Lucy Tyler who also battled infertility and won.
