Having the children, however, was not without complications. She endured periods that challenged her ability to give birth. Bridgett experienced two miscarriages since she suffered from fibroids. After a lot of prayers, talking to doctors, and doing a load of research, Bridgett decided to get surgery hoping she would get a chance to become pregnant.
Before the surgery, Bridgett focused more on her health, the chemicals she took, and those she applied to her body. Weeks before her surgery, she took a pregnancy test and realized she was pregnant. She canceled the surgery and focused on the pregnancy. The journalist later gave birth to her first child, a girl. On May 4th, 2018, Ellison gave birth to her second child, a son.
Bridgett Ellison Education and Career
When she was young, Bridget had the desire of becoming a journalist. This passion had her doing journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating, she got her first employment opportunity as an assignment editor, producer, and reporter for WCTI TV 12 and FOX 8/14. There she learned the ropes of journalism. She became familiar with writing news scripts, reporting off and on-field, and liaising with other journalists and the community to deliver authentic and genuine news.
After 1 year, she joined WLTX News 19 as a Reporter and Anchor. Serving in the station became easy as she was familiar with her job. The journalist immediately soured in her career, encouraging her employers to consider promotions and special assignments. Her proficiency attracted admiration from other media stations. After 3 years, she was called for an anchoring opportunity at WAGT where she worked for 4 years.
In 2008, Bridget left the journalism business to work as a board member for the Salvation Army. However, in 2010 she resumed as a reporter and anchor on News 6 at WKMG-TV, where has worked for 12 years as of 2022. The Emmy-award-winning journalist covered news on politics, crime, elections, presidential inaugurations, and natural disasters.
