He is the owner of the Addicted 2 success website and Podcast. He is also the co-founder of Impact Billion. His journey towards achieving global impact particularly came when he had an encounter with Jesus Christ. Since then, he has changed his initial view of success and now finds a balance between material success and obeying God.
Personal Details
Coach Joel Brown was born in Perth, Australia on 16th April 1987. He describes himself as a naturally creative person, a compliment he started receiving earlier on in life. He has practiced this trait in his adulthood and success has come his way. His belief system also helped him to attract Sarinia Bryant Brown, an artist who later became his wife. The couple married in 2022 and now share a daughter.
Like many other entrepreneurs, Joel Brown dropped out of school. His dropping out was unique because he got out of school when he was in 11 grade at Willetton Senior High School. He got back to school ten years later when he joined NLP Life Training to become an NLP Practitioner. Joel also joined Psych K where he studied masters and advanced personal development and executive coaching for 4 months.
His journey to success started immediately after dropping out of high school. Joel joined a part-time job at Westnet in the sales department but later had to quit to pursue his passion for music and entertainment. He had his radio station at 16 years old but spent most of his time as a manager for songwriters and producers. His work was shopping for beats and background music, and getting writers to record and sell music to record labels. At that time he was working with Jill Johnson, a super producer with productions like Sweet Dreams by Beyonce, lollipop by Lil Wayne, and Kiss Me Through the Phone by Bow Wow.
Joel moved to Miami when their company was signed by a publishing company in the United States. He worked in the music industry for a few years but dissatisfaction in the industry had him quitting the job and returning to Australia to seek more opportunities.
He went back to his former job as a sales executive at Westnet and later at Amcom. His moment of change came when he met Jordan Belford who challenged him to have a 10-year vision for his life instead of having short-term goals. The idea snapped Brown out of his years of sleeping.
Building Addicted to Success
In 2011, he started writing personal development articles while still working in his job. He marketed the articles by sharing them with his friends and on social media. Joel focused on creating high-quality articles and soon celebrities like Dwayne Johnson started retweeting. Addicted 2 Success started getting 2,000 visitors a month and more when the celebrities shared. Nine months into writing, he got introduced to Adsense and soon he started making money to pay for his bill and domain name.
His initial income was between $200 to $300 but soon hiked to more than $5000 a month. After he made $65,000 a year, he quit his job as a sales expert where he was making $55,000 to focus on his website. Soon website visitors moved from thousands to hundreds of thousands. Contributors and other writers started chipping in to share some of their content and others linking back to his website.
With the help of social media and his creative skills, he managed to build a website having more than 3 million viewers a month. Now, over 15 years into business over 300 million have viewed his website and his following on social media near 3 million. His unique success story has been featured on Forbes, Entrepreneur, Inc., Success, and The Huffington Post.
Success and Christianity
His source of revenue has also moved from selling space on his site to selling books and courses, and speaking at events and consultations. Joel Brown also runs an Addicted to Success podcast where he gets to dive into matters that concern leadership and success.
One of the popular subjects in his speeches is the truth of Christianity. He confessed to lacking faith in Jesus and any other kind of religion. When he was 29 years old, he had a new realization when everything he had achieved made no sense. Joel Brown’s new pursuit became seeking the truth found in Jesus. He now speaks boldly about the death and resurrection of Jesus and the satisfaction found in him.
Coach Joel Brown is a mighty force in Australia. Through his website and content on Instagram, he has been able to encourage people to strive for authentic leadership principles. His fame across the internet has had him share the stage with his childhood idols like Tony Robbins and Grant Cardone. He is also up and coming with other inspirational speakers like Jake Havron and his wife Emily Ford who also have similar belief systems.
