DaLaun Dillard Biography
One of the avenues the Black people are taking by storm is the media industry. One of these people is DaLaun Dillard. He is a top journalist working as a News 5 at 5 anchor at WEWS-TV. The young journalist has risen through the ladders of journalism through hard work with a mixture of luck, which is faith disguised. With time, he becomes better and better and most certainly competitive.
He previously worked at Hearts Television and News Central 34. Dillard is a natural storyteller who loves to feel connected to people regardless of his job. As much as being an anchor and reporter requires professionalism, Dillard always wants to remind his viewers that he is also human.

DaLaun carried the Battle Creeks vibe, his hometown, in Cleveland Ohio. He was born on 4th January 1994. He has a close relationship with his siblings Jaenieshia Green and Melvin Burns. Dillard lives with strong moral codes stemming from his belief in Christianity. He is in a relationship with Shay Rubinia, which he hopes will end in marriage.
DaLaun Dillard Education and Career
Since childhood, Dillard was a dreamer. His dream led him to pursue what he loved most. He went to Central Michigan University where he did BA in communication and Broadcast and minored in Cinema Arts.
The course introduced him to the societies and activities associated with journalism. He was part of the reporting team and later the production manager of the school’s TV and writer for the Central Michigan Life Newspaper.
As a student, Dillard got an opportunity to work at News Central 34 as a multimedia journalist where he conducted interviews, and research used to create videos for broadcasting. He also had the opportunity to report live from the site and determine stories to give priority.
After three years, the young journalist got an internship opportunity at WOOD-TV as a general assignment reporter who brought stories and later worked as an anchor. He worked there for 2 years and joined Hearts Television as an anchor and reporter whose duties were creating stories, editing, and distributing them to the network.
He worked with other reporters to determine the content mostly required by the public. After serving for another two years, Dillard joined WEWS-TV as an anchor and reporter.
His time as a journalist has been rewarding. In 2022, he was nominated for the first time in the Emmy’s and bagged the two awards for the first time. It showed that he was in to do big things in the media industry.

When he is not working, Dillard enjoys running and living an active lifestyle. He loves spending time with his family and lovely girlfriend. In an interview with WEWS-TV, Dillard confessed that he is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
He also stated that he is in debt to black as he represents black people in an industry where they are underrepresented. It is his desire to make sure the black people are being heard and seen.
Dillard has shown that it is possible to become a black journalist, succeed and have fun in it. His Instagram is an expression of the good life he lives. He gets a salary of approximately $70,000 per year. He is also a tall guy. His height is 6 feet and 2 inches.
