Danilo Gallinari Career
His father inspired him to play basketball from his childhood through his adulthood. His professional career began in 2004 when he joined Casalpusterlengo, a team in the third level of the Italian league. A year later he joined the second division in the Italian league for Edimes Pavia. The year 2006, was Gallinari’s most successful in his journey in basketball as he was nominated for the best player of the Italian league second division even though he had an injury for almost half of the season.
He started playing for the big leagues in 2006 when Olimpia Milano recalled him. His abilities, skills, and Basketball IQ captured the attention of teams in the NBA. He started with New York Knicks and signed a 2-year contract after he had a deal with Reebok who made his own sneaker called The Rooster, which is a moniker, he got from Italian players who called him Gallo, which means Rooster. The Rooster had a successful career with the Knicks but he left them in 2011 to join the Denver Nuggets where he also had a successful career.
Other teams Gallo has played for are Los Angeles Clippers, Oklahoma City Thunders, and the Atlanta Hawks where he currently plays.
