Education and Career
Her passion for journalism led her to California State University, Fresno where she pursued a degree in Media, communications, and journalism. As a student, she was an active member of the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA). In 2017, she assumed the role of President. RTDNA toured local stations giving students a feel of the real-world experience and offering a variety of workshops where professional speakers were invited to speak to aspiring journalists.
As a student, Elisa volunteered at ValleyPBS and also worked part-time as a sales associate at Aeropostale Inc. In 2016, she became a co-host of Movimiento Latino Show and also got an internship at FOX 26 for 3 months.
After graduating, she got an internship opportunity at KFSN Action News. She learned to write newscasts, research, and produce news. Elisa also got a hand in writing as she was responsible for writing articles for the station’s website.
After 6 months of interning, she got an opportunity at The E.W Scripps Company as a multimedia journalist and reporter. She started at 23 ABC where she created content for the station’s social media and website. After 1 year, they switched her to 25 ABC where she still creates digital content.
