Jacqueline Matter Biography

In your story to become the person you are today, do you have that one person who discouraged you like you did not deserve to get good things in this hard life? Well, this has been the story of many people but happy are those who let the naysayer be the naysayer. Jacqueline Matter had such a person in her life. In an Instagram post, she recalled

In college, I had a professor who told me I was the worst reporter he had ever seen and that I should get out of the business while I’m ahead. I can tell you I have never forgotten that. This, after basically failing me in his class despite the very report that I had turned in to him for my final project had also aired on a local TV station in Raleigh, NC.

Even when these troubles with her teacher were not enough, she had a life complication that almost ended her passion to become a journalist. But the fighter inside of her held on despite the circumstances. Now, Matter is living her dream. She is a News anchor and reporter for FOX DC. A perfect storyteller and an inspiring interviewer. She has had experience working at ABC 7, WNCT, and as an intern at several media stations.

Jacqueline Matter Background

She was born on 19th October 1991 in San Clemente, California. She went for her high studies at San Clemente High School. Matter is now living her dreams. She is also engaged to her long-time friend with whom they have been together for 5 years. In December 2022, she got engaged.

Jacqueline went to the University of North Carolina where she did a degree in Broadcast Journalism. Before graduating, she interned at News 14 Caroline, WNCN, and WRAL. She also served as a sports reporter when she was in college.

Her career began immediately after college. She started at Carolina as a News Reporter. Matter later served at both WNCT Jackson Ville and Greenville before moving to Sarasota to work for ABC 7 as an anchor. She served there for 5 years before joining FOX DC in July 2022.

In matters of her career, Matter has an eye for headlines and stories with wide impact. She covered a historic time in Maryland when Governor Moore signed a law that demands medical institutions in Maryland to test for Fentanyl and when Fairfax County School hired the first neurodiversity specialists.

TMJ Teeth Disorder

Her progress to becoming a journalist has been countered by many things but she endured all of them. She got a teeth complication called Temporomandibular joint disorder where the bottom has to move backward to move along with the upper jaw which was shorter than normal.

When the bottom jaw moved backward it caused pain in the place it meets with the skull. Jacqueline suffered from headaches, migraines, and emotional exhaustion. She came open about her condition and got featured in Suncoast View where she shared a video of the experience she goes through.

She started treatment in December 2019. Jacqueline went through phases where metal and braces were put on her teeth for months. The braces changed her facial appearance but had to gather the courage to embrace her new look because of her position. After 1 year of visiting the dentist, her jaw realigned to the right position.

She now looks gorgeous and ever-smiling. The clicks on her teeth are gone and she does not feel the migraines. Jacqueline has been an inspiration for people who have been following her. Her courage to share her story inspired others who suffer from the same condition. In response to the video she shared about her treatment plan, one fan said
