When she graduated, she joined WPMI-YV as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Jaysha worked with other reporters and learned from them the skills of distributing quality news. As a result, she developed stories based on leads and did reports from remote locations. Jaysha did live interviews with residents and reported based on information from the field. After 2 years she joined ABC 7 Eye Witness News.
In her time as a journalist, Jaysha has been instrumental in covering some high-profile stories. She has done coverage on tornadoes and hurricanes. The journalist did a story on the impact of coronavirus, the effects it had on the economy, and the strategies the government employed to recover.
Together with her team, she has been a recipient of the Overall Excellence Edward R. Murrow Award.
