Jerry Carne’s age is around 50 based on his experience and family life. He was born and raised in Gainsville, Florida. His passion for journalism started in his childhood. This led him to join school with the vision of becoming a journalist. He went to P.K Yonge Highscholl from 1964 to 1977. He pursued Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism at the University of Georgia and started working immediately. Jerry married a woman called Cady Carnes, who is also an alumni of the University of Georgia, where their three children also schooled after enrolling at Dunwoody High School.

Immediately Jerry graduated from the University of Georgia, he went to work as an Intern at 11alive in 1981. He later left to join his first employment in 1984 as a News Reporter for WAAY-TV. In 1985, Jerry joined WSPA-TV as a News Reporter. He went back to 11alive as a full time News Reporter. Presently, Jerry has more than three decades expereince as a journalist at 11 ALIVE. At 11 Alive, Carnes has worked as an investigative reporter, Communter Dude, General Assignment Reporter and the Athens Bureau Chief.
Over the years, Jeryy has sharpened his Journalism skills, He is a professional communicator, editor, bloger and proficeint social networking personel.
In August 2008, he started a website with the goal of raising awareness of prostrate cancer among men and preventive strategies since he is a cancer survivor. His expereince has opened doors for him to speak in gatherings.
As a reporter, Carness has covered high profile events such as the massive flooding in South Georgia 1994 and the ValuJet Crash in the Everglades.
