Jorge Ramos Pantoja is an American journalist operating as a bilingual reporter and news anchor for WKYC. Jorge is one of the few Latinos in Cleveland who have displayed the potential of doing great things in media.
He is an important asset for the network as he can maneuver easily in areas dominated by Hispanics and English-speaking areas. Ramos is also proficient in other areas as he has had experience at WOIO, WKYC, and News 12. He has also been recognized in different award festivals.

He was born on the 5th of October on the Southwest Coast of Puerto Rico. Ramos maintains a close relationship with his mother and sibling who saw him until he established his career. Jorge is one of the few journalists who has come out as gay. Despite criticism from the majority of viewers, he still stands strong on his identity. Jorge is in a relationship with Brooks W. Boron, a Union Lawyer and Executive Member of Cleveland Stonewall Democrats. Jorge and his husband got married on 5th January 2023 in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Jorge Ramos Pantoja Education and Career
Jorge discovered his passion as he grew up. He joined New York University’s Global Program in New York, where he got exposed to journalism. Jorge later joined Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in San Juan where he studied BA in Communication and specialized in Broadcasts and a minor in Business Administration.
He got a hand at journalism when he joined Walt Disney World as an Intern responsible for helping in the production and learning the ropes of creating content. In 2017, he got his first employment opportunity as a producer for News 12 Networks. He created scripts, edited them, and prepared them for broadcasting. Jorge was mostly behind the screen ensuring everything is moving in the right order. The young producer occasionally got an opportunity to report news on the field.
He got an official role as a reporter when he joined NY1 for reporting duties. Jorge traveled across the greater city of New York covering events taking place in the local areas. His biggest role started came in 2018 when he joined WOIO as an Anchor and Reporter.
With the experience he had had in other institutions, Jorge was confident in delivering news according to the demand of the audience. This earned him viewers and colleagues’ trust. The journalist worked there for two years and joined WKYC-TV where he works as a bilingual reporter.

His time as a journalist has been a worthy one. He has covered events worth the nation’s and the state’s interest. He has done coverage of crime in the poor areas of New York, Racism against Hispanics, and the inauguration of the president. Ramos covered the story of the impact of Covid 19 in the country and the measures the government used to contain the spread of the virus.
He received 2 Emmy awards for creating a promotional video that celebrated the Hispanic Heritage during history month. Jorge is also a major advocate of the LGBTQ community and the Hispanics living in the United States. Jorge’s active participation has earned him respect among Hispanics in Media. He emceed in the 55th Spanish Committee. In 2021, he was named among the top 100 must-know Latinos in Cleveland.
When he is not on official duties, Jorge loves spending time with his partner or on the beach, or traveling in the United States and Europe. He lives a comfortable and silent life. He also joins other gay journalists like Don Shipman and Bryce Newberry.
