Malika studied at Head-Royce School. At eight grade she went to a therapeutic school in Utah after her former school kicked her out. She graduated in 2012 when she was only 17 years old.

Before joining the University, she worked at her grand father;s law firm for an year. Malika then joined the University of Portlans for a degree in communication.

Her journalism career began taking shape in school as she was the sports writer, editor of the school’s newspaper called the Beacon. Malika reports were highly influential. In one instance, she wrote a report that compelled the school to put up paddling to prevent injuries on NBA players as one player had crashed into a wall as it was written in the report. She graduated in 2017 with honors.
