Her journalism career began taking shape in school as she was the sports writer, editor of the school’s newspaper called the Beacon. Malika reports were highly influential. In one instance, she wrote a report that compelled the school to put up paddling to prevent injuries on NBA players as one player had crashed into a wall as it was written in the report.
