She is a first-generation American born on 8th December 1992. She was raised in New York around Long Island. Although they immigrated from Iran, she is not 100% Muslim. Her father identifies as a Persian while her mother is a Jew. However, their value for family is the same. On 21st September 2022, Michelle was surprised by her 10-year-long boyfriend. He proposed to her while she was reporting live on air. As surprised as she was, Michelle said yes. The two will probably marry in December 2022 or sometime in 2023.
Education
Her desire to become a journalist started back at home. Coming from parents subscribing to two different religions, Michelle was accustomed to political and religious arguments. She learned that news have a great influence on people’s lives. This realization led her to choose journalism as her dream career.
She went to Great Neck South High School where she was the president of the Girl Varsity Club. Ross graduated and later joined the College of Mount Saint Vincent for a degree in communication. At school, she was actively involved in journalism societies and activities. Ross was the host of a campus television show called The Lifestyle and the producer of another show called Mount Movie Madness. She also served as the anchor and news reporter for the college’s television, WMSV-TV/Channel 8 News.
Hard work and a strong work ethic have been part of her lifestyle from a young age. She worked as a Salesperson at Jildor Shoes Inc and as a personal assistant at Robin Klinder Entertainment LLC. Ross also worked 7 days a week as a bartender. As a bartender, she managed to pay a student loan of $50,000 less than 2 years after she graduated.
While at school, she interned at The Bill Cunningham Show where she learned to produce and advertise content. Ross also developed the wardrobe and make-up for the show’s guests. She had another internship opportunity at Rachael Ray’s show where she conducted research with the production team, pitched segment ideas, and provided celebrity guests with services from their arrival until they departed from the show.
Career
Her journalism career started in 2014 at Fox News Radio where she was a production assistant. She did affiliate interviews, produced business reports and weekly podcasts, and booked radio tours with experts. After 1 year and 2 months, Ross joined ABC Radio as an associate producer who edited and repackaged TV content, wrote sportscast,s and prepared teases of upcoming newscasts.
Michelle served at ABC for 1 year before joining WETM-TV as an anchor, multimedia journalist, and corning Bureau Chief. There, she was tasked with relaunching Corning Bureau by chasing two different stories daily. She also pitched her own stories, edited, shot, and wrote some. Ross also filled in as an anchor whenever she was required. She also provided digital assistance by creating content from the station’s social media pages.
After close to 2 years, she joined News 12 the Bronx as a reporter and multimedia journalist who did breaking news, built relationships with community members and public figures, and hosted local events to establish a connection with the community. She was also the person behind content created on social media. After 3 years, she joined PIX11 as an MMJ and reporter.
She has been valuable to the journalism field as she has covered stories such as the death o Lesandro Junior Guzman, the Times Square Shooting, George Floyd’s Murder, Corona Virus Pandemic, and the Sentencing of Smallville actress Allison Mack.
