She comes from a nomadic family but her place of birth in Malaysia. Hee was born on 26th October 1990. Her family’s nomadic lifestyle made Natalie a visitor to many countries. However, they settled in the Woodlands. During her stay in the United States, she met a man from Asia. The two became close and got together. Education
Having settled in the United States, Natalie felt the urge to represent her people and journalism was the best way she could. Her journey began when she was a student at John Cooper high school and later at Louisiana State University. She made the last resolve to join The University of Texas where she did a degree in Broadcast journalism.
Hee was actively involved in the school’s journalism. She was the marketing director, reporter and anchor for Texas Student Televiision. She promoted the station to students and other organizations. Hee also had reporting and anchoring roles for KVR, which was part of the students’ TV. Natalie was also an anchor for Good Morning Texas aired weekly. She interviews guests and did live performances.
She also interned at KPRC for 3 months where she was trained to produce newscasts and producing news. Natalie became a corporate intern at WISH-TV at Indianapolits where she was trained about interactive media, promotions and sales and management.
Career
Her career kicked off when she joined KXAN in Austin as a multimedia journalist. She started as an intern and worked her way to becoming a permanent employee. For 4 years, she learned to cover breaking stories, and enterprise ideas, and write and edit newscasts. She also had the opportunity to interview influential people like Senator John Cornyn, Governor Rick Perry, Commissioner Todd Staples, and Leo Manzano.
She later joined WSDU as a general assignment reporter responsible for tracking down sources and interviewing them to gather information. Hee did live interviews and television and wrote articles on emerging stories and events on the station’s website. She served there for 1 year before joining KIAH-TV for another year.
In 2018, Natalie joined Fox 26 as a reporter. She has reported on the tornado that partially destroyed a daycare in Deer Park, The cancellations of Southwest Airlines, and the celebrations of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. She also covered a survey that shows that confirmed an increase in Americans believing in antisemitic conspiracy theories.
Outside Work
Natalie has been a great inspiration to Asian Americans. She serves as the co-president of Asian American Association of journalists. When she is not working, Hee loves spending time with her man, traveling across the United States and other countries. She loves binge golfing.
