Her passion for music goes back to her background. She was born on 17th February 1980 or 1981 in San Francisco and later relocated to Queen, New York where she grew up. Education
Despite being passionate about music, she studied political science when she was a student at New York University. However, she gravitated toward her passion for hip-hop. This passion landed her an opportunity at Elektra Record as an assistant manager. At the label company, Nicole was tasked with managing everyday operations including managing releases, doing budgets and following up with artists. She worked with big stars like Slim Thug, Snoop Dogg, Pharell Williams, and the N.E.R.D.
Career
Getting exposed to this environment connected her to Super Producer Rich Harrison who was behind Destiny’s Child song Soldier. Nicole worked as a marketing manager for Harrison’s new joint venture between Richcraft and Atlantic Records. She helped in securing partnerships with brands like Vibe, Verizon, and more. She led the release of charting singles for Young Steff and the female group Rich Girl.
Learning the ropes of music led her to co-found Lioness Entertainment with her friend. Nicole managed to work with producers such as Omen who later landed a placement with Drake, Lil Wayne, and Luda Cris. Some of their artists were featured on digital media such as Complex and BET and shared the stage with Nipsey Hussle and J. Cole.
Nicole landed her biggest deal when she joined Broadcast Music Inc as a Director. For the nearly 6 years she worked there, Nicole speared the signing of Wiz Khalifa, Dreezy, T-Minus, Jhene Aiko and Schoolboy Q. She linked songwriters with music publishers and advised on business ideas the artist could invest in to safeguard their future.
In 2014, she joined Rostrum Records as an A &R where she developed artists, managed brands, and assisted artists in meeting their career goals. After 2 years, she rose to VP and later to SVP where she helped in signing and developing artists, maximizing the impact of projects, and creating helpful business relations with streaming platforms.
In 2021. she joined Kenya Baris as a General Manager at his new venture between Interscope Records and Khalabo Ink Society titled Khalabo Music. In the acceptance statement, Nicole made it clear that she wants to support Barris’s vision of creating a place where artists have a space to show their talent and embrace their uniqueness. The Label has already worked with rising stars like Rocco.
