Renee Santos is a Hispanic-American Public Information officer for the California Department of Consumer Affairs. She is also a professional reporter working for CBS13. Renee has sharpened her skills by working at other media outlets such as KGNS, KSNV, and KOVR. As a reporter, Santos has had the opportunity to cover news from all sectors of life.

Growing up, Santos always wanted to represent people from her community, and becoming a journalist was the best strategy that came to her mind. In 2010, she enrolled at California State University in Fresno where she studied for a degree in Mass Communication and Media studies. Graduating, gave her the legal ground of pursuing her dreams.

Santos was lucky to find a job shortly after graduating. She started at KGNS TV as a reporter. Here, Santos got the ropes of journalism. During the two years she worked there, she learned reporting and breaking news, producing news, and script writing. She later left the media station and joined News 4, San Antonio, as a reporter. The experience was similar as she had to do the same things although in a different context.
She reported for News 4 for 2 years before later leaving for KSNV News 3 in Las Vegas to work as a reporter. Her major breakthrough came in 2019 when she joined KOVR-TV CBS Sacramento. Here, she had to serve large groups and those belonging to the Latin community. Santos became a regular figure on TV leading her to get widespread recognition. At the end of 2021, she joined the California Department of Consumer Affairs where she was the Public Information Officer. Unlike, in media outlets, Santos had to inform the public specifically on the issues that pertain to the media group. Although the scope of access to information became limited, working at the group gave her a deeper understanding of consumer affairs in California.
All through her career as a journalist, Renee has had the opportunity to cover crime, politics, elections, and sports, all of which have had national and international attention. In 2018, she won a Lone Star Emmy.
