Earning a certificate in meteorology and Television arts made him eligible for television. He started working at The Weather Network as a weather specialist and later at City News as a reporter, anchor, and breakfast television host. He later got an opportunity to work for CTV in London where he headed the weather department in London and Windsor. Achieving outstanding results led him to join CTV Kitchener as the lead meteorologist and the co-host for 12 News at CTV Kitchener. He returned to Canada in 2013 and joined Global News in 2014. His time at Global Television has been fruitful as he has been able to cover big weather stories such as the historic Alberta floods, Ice Strom in 2013, and the Fort McMurray Wildfire.
Aside from journalism, Ross is an actor, who has featured in several films. He started appearing in commercials and theatre performances before making his way to television series and movies. He has been featured in Student Bodies, Stargate: Atlantis, Swiss Family Robinson, Due South, and other films.
