Dillon stood his ground by refusing to delete the comment. The account was suspended for 12 hours and later blocked from posting for 8 months until it was reinstated by Elon Musk. During the 8-month suspension, The Babylon Bee account gained more than half a million followers and more than 1 million other followers after its reinstatement.
