Deciding to be serious with God is one of the best decisions a man can make. Travis Hearn made this decision and never looked back. He made it his business to do what was pleasing to the Lord. Years since Travis made that decision, the fruits have been bigger than he expected. He serves as the pastor of Impact Church and the team pastor for the NBA Phoenix Suns.
Travis Hearn Age and Family
Travis comes from Arizona. From our investigation of his lifestyle and experience, we found out that Hearn is 48 years old as of 2023. His background was not Christian if we would say because his mother gave birth to him in a relationship she was in at 16. Travis was raised by a single parent and his father did not take up responsibilities. Growing up, Travis noted that his mother had become more involved in the Christian faith. He, however, paid little attention to her newfound faith.
Now as a Christian, Hearn is living a life different from his background. He is married to Natalie Hearn. The two met at Impact Church, where Hearn served as a worship pastor. The Ministry Begins
At school, Travis excelled in sports. His prowess in basketball earned him selection in the State College Team. He celebrated this victory by joining his friends in a party that turned wild. Travis went home driving under the influence, leading to his arrest. He was taken to the local jail where his mother picked him up the following day. Guilt and remorse haunted him as he was disappointed in his behavior. The experience exposed him to a type of life he never wanted. To avoid similar cases, Travis gave his life to Christ.
As a response to his new calling, Hearn started a Bible Study for pro athletes in Arizona. Later he started a 200-member church with Andre Wadsworth, who became the Executive Pastor. In the second year, the attendance of the church doubled to 400 and later to 800 people. Now, they have an estimated number of 5,000 people attending church and more than 15k visitors every month.
The Church has placed a lot of responsibilities on Travis. His mission is to have an impact on society by becoming the light for other people to see. Impact church has local outreach programs that reach out to addicts, divorcees, less privileged, and those suffering from mental health issues.
Unlike other pastors, Hearn is uniquely focused on sports. His church is home to many NFL players. Outside the church, Travis serves as the pastor for NBA’s Phoenix Suns and as a chaplain for major and minor Baseball leagues. He is famous for his ability to bring people together and encourage them through the word of God. Through his ministry, many athletes have been able to overcome mental challenges many of them suffer from.
Travis Hearn Stroke
After releasing their first church song, He is the Miracle, which featured internationally recognized artist, Joe L Barnes, Pastor Travis has a massive stroke. He lost his speech, memory, and the ability to move. One doctor said, his condition was irreversible. The experience was challenging for Travis’ Family, the church, and sports clubs.
His wife, family, and church members supported him by sending messages of encouragement and praying for him. Two months into the sickness, a miracle happened. Travis returned to the pulpit ready to serve and continue the work of God. His story of recovery became big on the internet and across secular and media outlets.
The 12 News, KKTV, AZ Family, and Church Leaders covered the story. Many people were encouraged by the miraculous story, many others told similar experiences happening in their lives and others got encouraged to stand firm in their faith.
