Zack Tawatari Biography
Zack Tawatari,33, is an American Multimedia journalist and award-winning reporter currently working for KHOU 11 News. He is popular for his passion and excellent skills in covering some of the deepest and most interesting stories in Houston. A couple of times, Zack has covered stories that have had national and international attention. Prior to working at KHOU 11, Zack worked at NY1 News. At KHOU he is a colleague of Kim Castro, Lauren Talarico, and Dave Froehlich.

Tawatari has spent most of his life in Orange County. He was born and raised in California on 13th February 1989. He comes from a supportive family who has seen him from high school to establishing himself as a journalist. However, matters concerning relationships, having a wife or starting a family come second to his primary goal which is excelling as a reporter and anchor.
Zack Tawatari Education and Career
He went to New York University where he did a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Social and Cultural Analysis. As a student, Zack tried his hand as Head Researcher in Wicked Cow Entertainment, the opportunity lasted for six months before he became a production intern for four months at Madison Square Garden.
Tawatari started working officially when he joined New York 1 News first as a production intern and later got hired as a News Assistant. After two years, he rose to the position of a Sports Associate Producer and later a sports video reporter and journalist. Although he was primarily involved with sports, Zack had several opportunities where he covered stories on hurricanes and social and cultural events. In 2016, he won a New York Press Club award for covering Tommy John: Career Saves Leader.
He later departed from NY1 News to join the spectrum as a multimedia journalist and Reporter. In July of 2021, Zack was called to KHOU 11 Team to work as a reporter. He has since covered the storm that caused a fire outbreak in Southeast Houston, the golden opportunity Space City had when FIFA chose Houston to host the world cup 2026, the baby formula shortage in Houston, and the death of country music legend Mickey Gilley.
