Chidera Eggerue,28,  is a British-Nigerian author, writer, and activist. She is a big contributor to the feminist movement in the United Kingdom.  Eggerue believes it is time for women to be liberated from society’s perception of females. She also educates women on how to succeed in relationships.

Chidera Eggerue Age and Husband

Eggerue was born on 18th December 1994 in Peckham, South East London. She is of Nigerian descent as her parents descend from Nigeria. Chidera was raised in London. She went to school at Goose Green for her primary studies and later to Notre Dame School for secondary studies.

Her passion for fashion led her to study fashion in college but later dropped out because of stress and anxiety. She confessed that the depression stemmed from disappointments in relationships. Matters concerning marriage, and having a husband or children come second as her main goal is succeeding in her career. Chidera confessed that she prefers using sex toys to having physical intimacy.

 Saggy Boobs Movement

Lacking college and University academic credentials did not deter her from chasing her dreams. She overcame depression by working on herself. In 2017, she started a movement called #saggyboobsmatter as a show of appreciation for women who had boobs that sagged. The movement stemmed from the experience she had and society’s perception of women with saggy boobs.

Chidera argues that women should not allow society to control how they perceive their boobs. The influencer added that the definition of beauty is relative and any woman should be beautiful regardless of the shape of their boobs. This movement had a positive impact on women as some stopped wearing bras to make their boobs fit society’s perceptions. Like most of her movement, the saggyboobsmovement was not well received by everyone. Some created memes of the pictures she shared.

 Books

In 2018, Chidera authored What a Time to Be Alone: The Slumflower’s Guide to why you are already enough. She educates people to unlearn bad things taught by the culture, work on themselves and learn to thrive in relationships.

Both Given and Eggerue are champions of feminism, dating, and body positivity. However, Eggerue accused Given of copying her thoughts, especially in Given’s book called Women Don’t owe you pretty. The founder of #saggyboobmatter claimed that the visual in Given’s book was a copy of her book.

Given’s book had more sales and ratings than Eggerue’s, a move Chidera said was racial. Given’s book sold 100,000 copies in six months while Eggerues sold over 50,000 until 2022. Florence, however, chose to remain silent on the accusations.

In June 2023, Chidera released a mini-book called Pocket Power, which is a collection of quotes to help single women in the dating pool. The book is set to be on the shelves in November 2023. Miss Eggerue also started a podcast called The Slumflower Podcast where she talks about navigating in relationships as a woman.

Bring Back the Bush

In 2020, she created a documentary called Bring Back the Bush: Where Did All Our Pubic Hair Go? Chidera believes that women have been taught to hate their pubic hair instead of embracing it since it is part of their beauty.

Chidera claimed that most women shave their pubic due to pressure from their male sexual partners. The documentary raised mixed reactions as some women felt liberated while others felt offended by the documentary since it displayed the ladies’ bushes in full glory on the screen.
