Julie Mango and Family

Mango was born on 14th October 1981 in Jamaica. At age 11, she relocated to Claderon, Manchester with her family. The name Julie Mango came from her father who gave it to her after her love for Julie Mangoes.

She later returned to Jamaica, worked and now she lives in Missouri, United States. Despite being a devoted Christian, Julie lives a single life. Her dedication has been doing what she believes is her calling.

Career and Education

The desire to do performing arts was rooted in her family. While in England, she would observe her father and uncle talking and telling each other jokes. Seeing them planted a desire to do performing arts.

The desire began materializing when she was a student at Manchester High School. Julie participated in the school drama club. She became popular as the Cadet Girl, a name that earned her a scholarship to obtain a private pilot license at the Jamaica Combined Cadet Force.

After 20 years, she joined the University of Technology to study structural engineering after realizing that becoming a pilot was not her desire. Later she joined the Florida International University to pursue a master’s degree in engineering management. She added to her credentials a John Maxwell Certificate and also joined the John Maxwell team.

Battling Mental Health

Despite having the success many admired, Juliet suffered from mental illness after suffering from borderline personality disorder. Three times she attempted to commit suicide after going through stigma in an environment that shamed people with mental challenges.

Through the help of a professional therapist, Mango started going through the healing process. Eventually, she healed and resorted to becoming a mental health advocate. Juliet has publicly shared her experience on her social and events where she gets invited to speak.

In her healing journey, the idea of leaving everything and pursuing her passion was birthed. Wherever she worked or interacted with people, Juliet was always making people laugh.

During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, her stepmother sent her a funny video and from it, Juliet got inspired to create a similar one. Soon, she started uploading short funny videos on Instagram and TikTok.
