David Shands Biography
In simple words, working hard for a very long time is the only way to success. Every wealthy man did it that way and David Shands is intentionally reminding people how wealthy people made their money. He applied the same strategy in his business and marriage and like other rich people he succeeded. Now, he is an author of two best sellers, a podcaster, and a series entrepreneur. His decision to go the entrepreneurship way started when the bug hit him.
David Shands Personal Life
Shands was born on 8th December 1984 in Willingboro. He is an icon of success, especially for the black people. He is successful in his business, a husband and father to three children. David Sands is married to his Amauhree for more than 14 years. David’s wife works as a stay home mother, taking care of the house and the children.
The idea of making money without getting employed hit him while he was cutting the lawn in their home. David soon realized that many people wanted their home lawns cut. He started making money from cutting grass in the neighborhood. When he joined Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University., the idea of making money through creative ideas went with him.
When he graduated, putting the idea into practice was harder because he was inconsistent every time he got employed. During his birthday, he got a wake-up call when he realize, his life had never changed since he celebrated his last birthday. From there, he resorted to being consistent for 12 months. He joined a Cheesecake Factory and achieved his goal of working 12 months for 6 times.
Employee to Employer
Three years into working for the Cheese Factory, the entrepreneurship bug reminded David of his destiny. He made a plan to leave he company. On the side, he started Sleep is 4 Suckers brand to sell merchandise. For 2 and half years, he struggled to balance his brand and job demands. In his 6th year working for the Factory, David quit his job to focus on establishing his brand.
He stopped selling his house and car to open a Kiosk in Cumberland Mall. The business was almost an immediate success because friends purchased from him. After some time, David closed down the business after a bigger brand replaced him.
While the store was closed, he got the time to write his first book Dreams Are Built Overnight: How to Create A Bridge Between Your Day Job and Your Daydream. He also started creating online content and learning entrepreneurship and leadership. David started teaching lessons he had written in his book. In 2018, he wrote his second book Networking Know-No’s: The Ultimate Guide to Leaving Positive First Impressions.
The same year, he also started The Social Proof Podcast to bring together entrepreneurs, business leaders, relationship coaches, and public figures to have a conversation on success, business tips, and mindset shifts. The podcast has hosted some influential people like the Wallstreet Trapper, Quiana Watson and Donni Wiggins.
David also founded Real Social Proof Conference, an organization that plans big conferences and invites experts to speak about business. The conference has invited experts in Digital Marketing, Real Estate, Relationship, and Mental Wellness.
Success and Net Worth
While focusing on teaching others his ways of success, Sands has continues to scale in the merchandise business. Dr Eric Thomas, an international life coach, joined him in the business and helped in moving the branded T-shirts, sweatshirts, and wristbands in America and beyond. The aim of his brand is to encourage people to use their time effectively by sacrificing comfort.
Shands is a definition of success. He essentially moved from working as an employee to building an international brand. All this came when he decided to be consistent with working hard. He is an inspiration to many young black men who desire to be successful and have a family.
Through his multiple sources of income. David now can earn without stepping into his hustles. Throughout his working career, he has been able to accumulate a net worth of approximately $30 million. He is also a regular guest at big podcasts and conferences speaking about investment and mindset. He is also big on Instagram where he has close to 300k followers and a high engagement rate.
