Benita Jones Biography and Personal Life
More and more American people are dropping their belief in the existence of a god, despite these occurrences, musicians and worship leaders like Benita Jones are keeping the worship of God alive. She is a gospel musician, singer, songwriter, and worship pastor. Since she got her calling to sing, Benita has held on and paid the price it cost her to become an influential worship pastor.
She was born on 23rd April 1976 in Alabama. Benita is the last-born child of three born in a military family. From her parents, she got raised in a Christian way. In 2001, she got married to Delvin Washington. The marriage lasted for 16 years after they had a divorce in 2017 despite having two daughters.
Benita first sang in a children’s choir and from there she got an encounter with the Holy Spirit and her destiny to become a musician was sealed. She followed her dream through high school and at the University of Alabama, where she earned a Voice Performance degree. As a student, she got involved in contests which were the initial stages of her individual career.
In 2004, she released her debut album Hold On which featured the single Thank You that made it to the Billboard Magazine at position 6 and 25 on Independent Album Charts. Benita also became a background vocalist for CeCe Winans, Donnie McClurkin, and Juanita Bynum.
In 2007, she released her sophomore album Renaissance-Live in Nashive. Three years later, she released her third album, The World Remains. Overall, she had 5 albums that have earned her millions of views on YouTube. She continues serving God through music by leading worship and overseeing Mount Zion Baptist Church for the last 15 years.
Benita has been tried and tested but her faith in God has remained steadfast. She went through a horrible divorce but survived it regardless. Benita the likes of Stephanie Ike Okafor, Pastor Bridget Hilliard, and Pastor Preshea in preaching the gospel and keeping the fire of Christ burning.
