Initially, he was a culturally Greek Orthodox all through to college. He turned to Christianity when he was led to Christ. At that time, Canon J. John was studying Psychology at Hendon College in London. His conversion to Christianity led him to study theology at St. John’s Theological College. Knowledge about Christianity led him to do reconciliation work by volunteering to work at a local prison. He later started working as a Director of Evangelism at St. Nicholas’ Church in England. His position at the church led him to speak at Universities and Churches across the country.
He also started a foundation called Philo Trust that supported his ministry. He started at Nottingham but later moved to Chorleywood where the ministry grew and attracted other influential Christians like Christine Caine and Andrew White.
