Her responsibilities were researching and analyzing marketing trends and competitions. She also directed marketing initiatives and developed marketing plans.
After 2 years, she joined Denver Community Federal Credit Union as the director of Marketing. Her duties were directing marketing plans and markets and managing relations with advertising agencies. After working there for 2 years, she joined JPMorgan Chase, a $1.4 trillion company, as the Marketing Manager. She executed marketing campaigns, managed marketing budgets, and partnered with other companies.
Annie also worked at JPMorgan Chase for 2 years before joining Travelex. She started as a director of marketing and soon rose to the VP of Marketing and Operations for 6 years. In 2013, she was made the Global Head of Marketing with responsibility for B2B and B2C marketing in 29 countries. Although Anne was thriving in her professional life, her personal life was crumbling. She was fighting alcohol addiction. At age 26, she was running a $ 1.4 trillion company as the president of Marketing at 35, Anne was at the peak of her career as a global marketing officer. Money and affluence came in plenty but at the expense of her health.
She was drinking 2 bottles of wine a night. Her addiction was a struggle she wanted to win but friends, myths about alcohol, and her own mind triumphed over her desire to quit.
The desire to quit alcohol came after one of her children told her he did not want to sit with her because she was smelling bad and her teeth were purple. Annie told Belfast that these remarks stirred a great desire to change.
She started studying the functions of the body, mind, and alcohol. She also researched about the conscious and the unconscious mind and how they affect a person’s behavior.
From her research, she realized that her addiction was possible to triumph over. She struggled for 3 years but in December 2014, she drank her last. Now, Annie is celebrating 9 years as a sober person.
She also made a decision to help others quit alcohol after realizing that people from all walks of life suffer from various addictions. She authored the book, This Naked Mind, which brings to light the functions of the unconscious and conscious mind and how people can break free from addictions.
