As a student, Saira began putting her skills into practice when she got an internship at WSPD and later at WQAD. She got her first full-time employment opportunity at Grat Television where she was a 6 pm and 10 pm reporter and anchor.
She created a show called Medical Minute Saira and served at the station for close to two years before moving to WMTC, an NBC affiliate as lead weekend anchor and a reporter. She had a special Travel Segment called the Road Trippin with Saira. After close to three years, she moved to Miami to work for WPLG as a TV News Reporter.
Throughout her career as a journalist, she has covered stories that have earned her an Emmy Nomination two times and a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Award for excellence in reporting. She has covered major stories like the wall-to-wall coverage of the Condominium that collapsed in June 2021 at Surfside, Florida. 18 people died in the Collapse.
Saira has also covered weird stories like that of a man who climbed a fire fighting truck and refused to come down and the story of officials in Fort Lauderdale who moved an 85-year-old tree. Saira has also done sad news like the death of an 85-year-old who was killed by an alligator and the plane crash in Miramar.
